If You Ask Me Nicely, I’ll Tell You Everything
June 8 – July 1
Fort Delta is pleased to announce ‘If You Ask Me Nicely, I’ll Tell You Everything’, a new exhibition by Melbourne-based artist Adam Stone. This is Stone’s second solo exhibition at the gallery, following on Stone’s first solo exhibition ‘Cane Toad’ in July of 2016. An opening reception for ‘If You Ask Me Nicely, I’ll Tell You Everything’ will be held at the gallery on Thursday June 8 from 6 – 8pm. The exhibition will remain on view until Saturday 1st July.
In his new exhibition ‘If You Ask Me Nicely, I’ll Tell You Everything’ Stone presents recent sculptures which are open to contemplation and reflection from the viewer and which implicate them as both an agent and object for utopic intervention, a departure from his past work which has relied on entertainment media, commercial products, and popular culture to communicate conceptually driven narratives.
Through an eclectic set of symbolic references and visual anchor points, Stone brings forward a new mediative space for his works to operate in which focus on moments before and after a point of impact, as opposed to the ‘fall from grace’ moment and the ensuing consequences which only occur after a glorious rise, which has governed much of the artist’s output and conceptual territory up until now.

Since graduating Adam has had numerous solo and group shows and undertaken residencies in Beijing and New York.
